Jan 14-17 Shabbat, Tu B'Shvat and MLK Day

Beloved land, Beloved trees, Beloved community - Celebrate the convergence of Shabbat, Shmitta, Tu B'shvat and Dr. King's birthday with Malkhut during the weekend on January 14th- January 17th

  • On Friday, January 14th we gather on Zoom only for Kabbalat Shabbat. Join us at 6:30 P.M. for an uplifting service with music on the themes of Tu B'shvat, social justice and shmitta and a special teaching from Lisa Huberman on these themes. There's no need to register--here is the Zoom information https://us06web.zoom.us/j/88585715170?pwd=TVRnSnZxVldLcHFWMXZrNEZSV2JsQT09  Meeting ID: 885 8571 5170 Passcode: 326915
  • Shabbat morning, January 15th--including services, Youth Institute, and Malkhut & Me-- will be in person as usual at the Community United Methodist Church beginning at 9:30 A.M. Adult services and study will also weave themes of justice and Tu B'shvat. Out of an abundance of caution we will not be celebrating kiddush and eating or drinking together. But, weather permitting, we still will gather at the end of the morning as an intergenerational community to bless our children and sing together. RSVP HERE for more information and to save your seat.
  • On Monday, January 17th, join Kris Wettstein to show our street trees some love in honor of Tu B'Shvat and Martin Luther King Day. We'll be meeting at 2:00 P.M. in Jackson Heights and all ages are welcome. RSVP HERE to get the exact location.
