Dahlia McWhorter
N’ima Tikvah Bat Malkah Chana v’John
Dahlia enjoys art or crafts of any sort (bracelet making, making clay things, paint), gymnastics, and music. Emphasis on music. She is always blasting music through her headphones, singing, or writing songs. People tell her to stop singing often. Her favorite music artists are Olivia Rodrigo and Conan Gray and she loves the Sturniolo Triplets (maybe a little too much). Hobbies include but are not limited to: arguing with people over unnecessary things because she enjoys debate, spending time with her friends, and writing stories. Dahlia is in seventh grade at Hunter’s Point Community Middle School.
Thank You!
Thank you to my mom and dad, Martha Sparks and John McWhorter, my Hebrew teachers, Sharone and Jim, and my social justice teachers, Rachel and C. I’d also like to thank my fellow Olim for making this process funner and funnier during group classes.
In Memoriam

Mitzvah Project
When people are hungry, their pets are hungry. My bat mitzvah project was to help feed people’s pets. We collected dog and cat food by sending out emails in the Jackson Heights group and asking our friends and family. We were given many donations and even money to buy the pet food ourselves. We then emailed the Lions Share Food Pantry asking if we could give out the food at one of their giveaways and they said yes! One Saturday morning, we lugged all the food we collected (and it was a LOT) to where the food pantry sets up and set up our table. We gave away the food and it was almost all taken! We saved a few cat treats for my cat, Gracie, but otherwise, everything was gone.
