Join Malkhut in Long Island City!
Malkhut is now in our fouth year of building Jewish life in LIC! In addition to holding our community-wide High Holy Days in LIC, we meet monthly on Friday nights for Kabbalat Shabbat and on Saturday mornings for Shabbat morning prayer followed by our early childhood program, Malkhut & Me in LIC. We also gather regularly for other holidays, like Chanukah, Sukkot and Purim, and for other events like our upcoming adult education series and mindfulness retreats.

Monthly gatherings in LIC:
Kabbalat Shabbat: On the second Friday or each month, we welcome Shabbat together at Renew Queens in LIC. At Malkhut’s Kabbalat Shabbat gatherings, we spend the first hour or so weaving energetic musical prayer with lots of space for breath, silence, contemplation. We spend the second hour connecting with each other over a meal. Words of Torah may come in the form of a short drash (teaching from the weekly portion) during prayer or as an interactive discussion after dinner. Rabbi Goldenberg, Kris Wettstein, our music director, and our circle of volunteer singers and musicians create a sacred space for joyful, ecstatic and quiet, contemplative prayer. No Hebrew literacy is necessary. All Hebrew is transliterated, and many of our prayers are in English. All are welcome. Click HERE to see upcoming dates. Shabbat Mornings in LIC: Join us monthly for a Malkhut Shabbat morning service led by Student Rabbi Emily Herzlin. We will sing, breathe, and pray together, and close with kiddush and motzi. This service will be geared towards adults, but kids of any age (including families who are coming for Malkhut and Me) are welcome to attend. Malkhut & Me in LIC: Once a month we gather to sing, dance, celebrate Shabbat, and make new friends in LIC. Malkhut & Me is our monthly program for kids from birth through pre-K along with their grownups. More info & register for Malkhut & Me in LIC HERE.
