We are so excited to be offering
Shabbat Morning Prayer in LIC!

Join us for a Malkhut Shabbat morning service with Student Rabbi Emily Herzlin. We will sing, breathe, and pray together, and close with kiddush and motzi. This service will be geared towards adults, but kids of any age (including families who are coming for Malkhut and Me) are welcome to attend. Adults who come for the Shabbat morning service but are not joining for Malkhut and Me are welcome to hang out in the kitchen after the service and schmooze.

10-11  Shabbat morning prayer with lots of chanting and singing (for adults, but kids are welcome)

11-11:15  Malkhut and Me families arrive; folks from Morning Prayer welcome to stay and schmooze

Meditation:  Beginning in January, Student Rabbi Emily will be leading a guided meditation from 9:30-9:55 before the service itself begins.  No prior meditation experience necessary.  If you would like to come just for the service, you are welcome to arrive at 10:00, just please enter the space quietly as others will be meditating.

Children are welcome at this service, supervised by their parents.  There will be a small area with some toys and drawing materials and children are welcome to play with these items during the service.

COVID safety policies: Please review Malkhut's COVID protocols here. When respiratory virus transmission levels in NY State are high or very high, masks are required for ages 2 and up. We understand that young children are not accustomed to masking and may not be able to mask in an effective way. Parents can use their own judgment regarding whether to have their child/ren mask, but please stay home if you or your child/ren are exhibiting symptoms (fever, COVID, or flu).

Accessibility:

  • Renew's small space: The space is on the ground floor of a prewar building, and has one step to get to the entrance. The single-stall, gender-neutral bathroom has a narrow door.

  • CUNY Law:  This is a fully ADA accessible space with men's and women's multi-stall bathrooms, as well as a single-stall gender neutral bathroom on the same floor as the room for the program.
